Public should be alerted to Chacha push by House

After just 6 days of hearings, the Lower House through its committee of the whole has passed Resolution of Both Houses No. 7. We can now assume that the Charter change measure endorsed by Marcos Jr will be passed on second and then third and final reading before the Holy Week break.

RBH7 puts pressure on the Senate to pass RBH6. If this doesn’t happen soon, it is possible for the Lower House to present RBH7 as bearing the 3/4 vote of all members of Congress, and file the resolution with the Comelec and push for a plebiscite by June. Unlike its Senate counterpart , RBH7 does not state that the two chambers of Congress should be voting separately. The Senate is in for a rude awakening when the Lower House pushes for Charter change even without the upper chamber.

May be an image of 4 people and text that says "UL SERVE KABUHAYAN, LUPA, KARAPATAN AA AT HINDI BAYAN Bagong Alyansang CHA-CHA! Makabayan NGI PUBLIC SHOULD BE ALERTED TO CHACHA PUSH BY HOUSE BAYAN @BAYANPhilippines"

At stake now is the further opening up of the Philippine economy and the sell-out of public utilities, education and advertising to foreign interests. The Philippines will soon be up for sale. Rates and prices will inevitably increase. Profits will be further squeezed from the people.

If Marcos and his allies succeed in this new push, amendments to term limits and the form of government will not be far behind. Chacha has always been a self-serving undertaking.

The Filipino people are faced with a grim prospect of foreign-controlled economy and well-entrenched political dynasties with unli-terms. The Filipino people, especially the oppressed classes and marginalized sectors must oppose the latest Marcos Chacha push. The Philippines is not for sale. Our future is not for sale. Oppose the Marcos Chacha!
