VOTERS SHOULD CHOOSE SENATORS WHO CAN HOLD VP DUTERTE OR PRES. MARCOS ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR WRONGDOING

Partido Demokratiko Pilipino’s (PDP) call to elect senators who will protect Sara Duterte from impeachment is an example of what is wrong in our political and governance system.

Isang kawalanghiyaan ang lantarang adyenda na gamitin ang Senado para pagtakpan ang mga kapalpakan at krimen ng mga impeachable officials tulad ni VP Sara Duterte.

Rather than elect pro-Duterte candidates, our voters should elect candidates who can be truly independent. We need senators who can hold both the Duterte and Marcos factions of the ruling regime accountable for their wrongdoings.

Public office should never be a shield against accountability. Institutions like the Senate exist not just to legislate but also to ensure checks and balances among different branches of the government.

Considering that the Duterte faction has shown their true colors and agenda for the Senatorial elections, voters should think twice before considering any of the Duterte lackeys. Dapat, bumoto ng totoong independente at walang takot panagutin ang may sala – Marcos, Duterte, o maging sino ka man.#
